If You’ve Said Any of These Things Today… This Blog Is Probably for You

From “What’s in your mouth?” to “Who am I outside of being Mom?”—a funny, honest introduction to the motherhood, career questions, and everyday chaos we’ll talk about on the In Her Boss blog.

“Where’s my phone?”

“What’s in your mouth?”

“Nope. Nope. Nope. You are ABSOLUTELY not getting away with that.”

“Did I eat breakfast?”

“Where the heck is my water bottle?”

“Did the kids eat dinner, or did they just survive on cheese, berries, and snacks?”

“Wait. It’s STILL Saturday?”

“Where did you get that marker…and WHY is it on the wall?”

“Water stays IN the tub.”

“Please don’t feed that to the dog. She will get sick.”

And, of course, the workday classics:

I have a client call today. I should probably try to look somewhat presentable.

Or…

No client calls today? Perfect. This sweatshirt is now business casual.

Then 5 p.m. rolls around, and somehow I’m expected to know what’s for dinner.

Welcome to the chaos.

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.

Motherhood sometimes feels like spending an entire day saying things you never imagined would come out of your mouth:

“Soft hands, please.”

“It’s okay to be upset. It’s NOT okay to throw the remote.”

“No, you cannot have a juice box at 5 a.m.”

“No, you cannot have a popsicle at 6 a.m.”

All while trying to remember if you answered that work email, drank any water, switched the laundry, scheduled that appointment, fed the dog, and handled the 4,782 other invisible tasks floating around your brain.

And there’s so much more happening in our lives while we’re mothering.

Career changes. Identity shifts. Relationships. Personal growth. The pressure to be a great mom, partner, employee, business owner, friend, daughter, and caregiver—while remembering that you are a person in there, too.

Maybe you’ve caught yourself wondering:

What do I actually want?

Do I still love my career?

Who am I outside of being “Mom”?

Why does everyone else seem to have their shit together except me?

Spoiler alert: they don’t.

The perfectly put-together mom you saw this morning might have cried in her car yesterday.

The woman crushing it at work might have reheated the same cup of coffee three times and still never drank it.

And the woman who seems completely sure of herself might be questioning everything behind the scenes.

We see the smiles, the promotions, and the cute family pictures. We don’t always see the chaos that happened five minutes before.

That’s what I want this space to be for.

A place to talk about the real stuff. I’ll share stories about motherhood, careers, relationships, personal growth, building a business, and attempting to keep my own shit together along the way.

Some stories might make you think. Some might help you see something differently. And some will hopefully make you laugh and say, “THANK GOD. It’s not just me.”

Because chances are, whatever you’re navigating right now, someone else is navigating their own version of it too.

So if you’re raising kids, building a career, questioning your next move, rediscovering yourself—or simply trying to figure out what the hell is for dinner tonight—welcome!

You’re my kind of person. And I think you’re going to like it here!

Much love,
Monica
